Card Manager Configuration file in Fedora Core 6

Hello

I am using Fedora Core 6 and I need to add some PC Card info into the CardManager config file and am unable to locate it in Fedora Core .
I know that I could find it in directory /etc/pcmcia/config in the redhat 9 version.
Could you please help me out here.
Currently the directory /etc/pcmcia contains
bluetooth
bluetooth.conf
config.opts

Thank you

What is it that you want to add? Is it a 16-bit card or cardbus as they are configured differently.

Yep, this is correct. The old 2.4 based RHL9 used the directory differently then FC6 now does. The old knowledge no longer applies, sorry. Now, if you plugin the cardbus card is it shown in tail end of the /var/log/messages file??

as root type: tail /var/log/messages

You might want to read: http://kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/ke...ia/pcmcia.html

.

Thank you guys for the help.

I am trying to include a Cardbus. Previously I was adding information under "Device driver definition" and "Wireless netword adapters" in the /etc/pcmcia/config file as I had previously mentioned.

# tail /var/log/messages
gives a result with the last line as
" pccard : CardBus card inserted into slot 0 "

Which wireless pcmcia interface???

Many times they show-up (when plugged in) in the output of the typed command:

/sbin/lspci -v

Many times doing (as root) the typed command enables the device's kernel module:

modprobe <driver_name_here>
Example: modprobe orinoco_cs

When I execute /sbin/lspci -v
I get a list of controllers with the last on the list as

02:00.0 Network Controller: Conexant Unknown device c684 (rev 81)
Subsystem: Conexant Unknown device c684
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 11
Memory at 22000000 (32 bit , non-prefectable) [disabled] [size=8k]
Capabilited: [dc]Power Management Version 1

I did a " modprobe Conexant " But I just come up with module not found.

I dont know much about Linux and just starting to learn. Appreciate all your help. Thank you

I'm in the same situation here...and I'm at a loss, as I actually normally use Slackware. I've installed. It would be nice to see the OP see this to closure.
