Yes not much go on, but will try to help

Its been a long time since I used 98. Are you starting the machine with the windows 98 cd in the drive and trying to install it that way? If memory servers me right some cdroms or motherboards can't boot from the windows 98 cd, you need a windows 98 bootdisk. There is a program called boot98.exe, or something similar, which create a windows 98 boot disk using a floppy.

Then reboot with the floppy in the drive, and menu will appear then select 'start with cdrom support' once that finish loading it will come to a command line, then type in:

setup

then hit enter, and it should start the install process

hope this helps
