cant mount DVDrom drive......

hello there, I am really new with linux os. Now i am using problem is I cant mount my dvd drive. I can easily watch movies...but i cant find any Icon in /media to copy any files from dvd rom...another thing is I have a CD Writer..which is accessible from /media...

can any one help me.

<see if your dvd drive is mounted. if it is browse that location>


# su
#mkdir /media/dvd

#mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdd /media/dvd

(it maybe /dev/hde... too ?)

yes that command did work....i can access my dvd files ...though i have to change a bit ....on hdd to hdc

# mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /media/dvd
