Canon has a driver here -->
http://software.canon-europe.com/sof...567.asp?model=
From the Canon web site, be sure to read the details before you try to install the driver. From their site:
Quote:
Before you use this driver, you need to install Ghostscript which includes the common API.Please install the Ghostscript before you install the driver.

Ghostscript should be available for Ubuntu's repos. ( Use synaptic package manager to find and install ).
Follow the instructions on the Canon site to install the driver.
You need Cups installed, again, Synaptic package manager.
Configure the printer through the Cups web interface. ie
http://localhost:631
I don't own a canon printer, this is the usual way to do things on any linux system. I know Ubuntu has gui tools to config printers, however, they often don't work for printers they don't supply the drivers for.
Best of luck.
