Post Cant Get any sound. I'm using SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3

Installed SimplyMEPIS 3.4-3 about 3 weeks ago and I'm not getting any sounds when I insert a CD. Any help will be appreciated.

Check alsamixer

# alsamixer

ensure that cd volume is on and then

# alsactl store

in order to save the changes.

Get into console and login as root.
Type alsamixer and the sound mixer will open. Check the volumes and be sure that they are not MM on the bottom. If so, press "M" from your keyboard.
Then exit and for saving the changes type alsactl store.

I hope that my answer now it's more clear to you.
