cant enable DMA!


deb2k:~# hdparm -d1 /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)

this is really bothers me, my hdd, wd 120bb, should be anble to give out more than 3mb/s

well first you have to be logged in as root to do this, and also if it doesn't work then you will have to add it to your startup for it will take effect after reboot..
