Question canon pixma mx330 opensuse 11.1 compatibility

I have recently purchased a canon pixma mx330 all in one printer. I tried using yast on 64 bit opensuse 11.1, kernel version to locate the necessary driver to no avail. Is this a futile attempt or is there a driver that yast can't find.

You may need Gutenprint, a printer driver for Linux ( But I'm not sure if they have one for that particular printer yet. You can ask if they can support it.
I did a little looking around and found info on this page:,9006 (I hope the link works alright). According to that info, you can get a driver right from Canon themselves (Canon Europe). Just read about it on that page I gave you the link for. I hope this helps.
