canon pixma mx 860

Hi,

I am trying to get Canon PIXMA MX 860 printer in opensuse 11.2.

The printer is detected but there is no driver for it. Does anyone
know of a good printer emulation for this printer for Linux in general?

Thanks.

I use Turboprint to run my Canon i9950 under Ubuntu, and it prints as well as, if not better than, it does in Windows. Turboprint isn't free, but it's not expensive either.

Follow the links in my signature. Canon generally doesn't have very good free support, but start by checking the openprinting database anyway. If there's nothing listed there, you'll probably have to go with turboprint.

The model number Canon PIXMA MX860.

Method 1:
You may refer to the below links and use the troubleshooters. Check if it lists and helps resolve any issues: Open the Printer troubleshooter:
Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : Consumer & Home Office

Method 2:
You may check if you have the latest drivers installed for the device. You may refer to the below link for getting the latest drivers and check.

They make one...

This Canon site lists drivers for this machine. Choose linux for the OS in the selection menu.
