I have a Canon 1P1000. I went to the Canon site and downloaded a driver free. My problem is that I now don't know what to do with it. The accompanying instructions are incredibly complicated. How do I install a tar.gz?

hi,
you have to unpack the file, something like: tar xzvf file_name destination (you can see "man tar")..
the you have to type:
1. ./configure
2. make
3. make install
bye :p
nothing to do for Canon PIXMA ip1600 folks? :jawa:
