Question Canon N670U scanner FC2 Help required

I have just installed Fedora Core 2, and have got everything working, including Kodak CX6200 digital camera (required libPTP2).

I can use my Canon N670U USB scanner as root (kooka/xsane) but it is not detected at all as a normal user. This has infuriated me no end, as it has worked on all other distros.

I have chgrp/chmod'ed all files I think require it. I have also created a new group called 'scan' and applied that group to all files I think require it. I have edited /etc/sane.d/dll.conf leaving only canon and plustek (the old sane used plustek driver for the n670u). I have also added vendor etc info.

I am using libUSB and uDev I think (with FC2)

Please help, I am at my wits end...
