Canon imageclass MPC190 usb printer and slackware 9.1

Im trying to get my Canon imageclass MPC190 printer/scanner/copier to work under slackware 9.1.
I tried to use CUPS but there was no driver for this specific model of canon. Is there some other way to get the printer working?
Is there maybe a generic driver that might work?

thanks in advance for any help

From looking around on the internet it looks like there isnt any support for this printer under linux.

DAMN YOU MICROSOFT
:P

I am forced to use windows for printing.
And i also have to use ms word for an assignment for a subject at uni. Yes i *have* to use word, we have been getting taught how to use ms toys er i mean office at uni. in an IT course. This seems so stupid to me.

oh well

Me too!

i too have tried installing the Canon MCP190 on Mandrake 10!!! very frustrating to not have a printer.

if anybody can find a driver, or even a suitable generic driver - i would love to hear about it.

thanks,

I wonder if the reason there is no driver is because no-one has made one yet or because Canon wont release the specs or something.

Maybe we'll have to get off our arses and learn how to code our own driver.
