Wassup people!!!

My printer can't print anything at all even the test page through redhat-config-printer in RH9!! The driver that I am using is supposedly the correct one, BJ200. Unfortunately, all the printer does is print out weird characters. My specs are below and can anyone offer me some help??

Laptop specs:
Dell Inspiron 500M
RH9 kernel 2.4.22
Canon BJC 210SP connected through lp0 parallel port

I'm relieved to read your posting re Canon 210SP. I've had the same problem on both RH7 and RH9. I thought the problem would be solved using CUPS instead of LPRng which is on the RH9 distro. I've just spent the afternoon trying to configure my old Canon only to end up with weird characters being printed along the right margin when running the test page.

I had zero problems configuring the printer on the Mandrake 9.2 distro so this problem appears to be specific to RedHat.

I've got no idea how to rectify this problem other than going back to Mandrake (or buying a new printer).
