Cannot set max resolution for Viewsonic VP201b in Fedora Core 3

I bought a Viewsonic VP201b but I cannot set Maximum resolution (1600x1200) in mi Fedora Core 3 box. The first thing I did was select the monitor (is included on recognized monitors list) but, after restarting a "out of range message was displayed".

Well, time to tweak xorg.conf. NIce!, Horizontal sync wasn't the specified by manufacturer. I changed that, but again out of range message was displayed..ughhh...anyway X started, but in an incorrect resolution (1680x1050). Damn.. I don't know was else do.

Please help me!

tnx
Francisco

What is the max resolution on your video card?

My card it's a Nvidia gforce 4MX, and according to manual, maximum resolution supported is 1920x1440

Before this monitor I had a 21" CRT monitor( Iliyama I think), and worked fine at 1600x1200, so I'm sure my board can display it.

Thanks

I find it easier to edit the XF86Config-4 file by hand, and add the lines for resolution I want.
