Cannot read external disk

Using testdisk I find all my data and can copy them. But is there a possibility to find normal access to that disk? Restore something like a partition table (sorry I don't even understand, if an external disk has one)
(930 GB, Fat32)
My system is a devuan Beowulf, using Thunar to show my files (where the disk seems to be empty).
Thanks for help.

An external disk can or can not have a partition table (same as an internal one).

Solution 1: Use testdisk to copy your data. Format the disk with or without partition table, and copy the data back to the disk.
Solution 2: You might be able to restore the original partition table (if there was one) and other disk structures, but if testdisk can't do that, I guess you have no choice but solution 1.

If your disk is damaged, I would not put any valuable data on it, though.
