Cannot install Intel integrated network card in fedora core 4

Hi, I wish to install Fedora Core 4 on my computer, but have had several problems. One of them is that my network card doesn't seem to be working correctly. I already have windows XP installed, and the network card works fine, so I guess hardware problems can be ruled out. According to windose my card is an Intel PRO/1000 PL, I already downloaded and installed the latest e1000 drivers for Linux from intel, and the network configuration tool seems to recognize my card, but internet doesen't work. My computer is connected to a D-Link DI 604 router, and any attempt to configure it using Mozilla Firefox in Fedora fails with a "connection refused" message. I have another computer connected to the same router running Fedora Core 4 just fine, so I guess the problem is not my router... but that remains as a possibility. My kernel version is 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4. I'll print the output of /sbin/lspci below:

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. I'm having terrible headaches due to this problem!

Intel has linux drivers on their site. My Onboard nic gives me problems as well without downloading those. Their relatively easy to install.

uhm... I already downloaded and installed the latest drivers. Before installing the drivers it didn't even recognize my card, now it recognizes it but Internet doesn't work!

Thank you anyway for trying to help.
