cannot initialize camera (does this go here?)

i just bought a sony cybershot W30 and im having trouble getting it to pop up with my pictures. the device manager finds it (and it says camera for once) and i click there and i get a folder that says (something) class camera. click there and another folder that says the same thing. click. and ive tried a few times and gotten two errors.

1) could not initalize camera
2) unknown error unknown port

any help is better than none. thanks in advance

Are you using KDE desktop? If so, are you using 'digikam? Sometimes if one your camera is not detected, try one of the generic names.

Maybe this link can be of help.
