cannot find sda or sdb for mounting pen drive in RH9


Hi,

I am using RH9 ( i know, its old) and i can't mount my Kingston data traveller. when i plug in my pen drive and type fdisk -l, i don't see any sda or sdb. has anyone experienced this problem before? Please help ! Thanks.

to check your usbdisk is getting detected do the following then insert it to the machine

Hi apsivam,

i got this after typing that:

RH9 might be too old. I have the same problem on a RH8 box in combination with a specific memory stick (others work).
Needed a kernel update to fix and that was something that I was not willing to do on that box.
