Cannot find host


Ok im sorry if I dont know the stuff(brand new to linux)

so my network card was automatically found, so i configured it to dchp

the problem is, when i try to acess the internet, i get hostname cannot be found. I tried using it with, and without the router, neither works.

I'm using SuSe linux, and im not sure of the version

Check /etc/resolv.conf
This is the dns file. You must have something like this:
nameserver 312.223.23.23

where would that be located? im sorry i know nothing about linux lol

and what do I do when i find it?

Use a text editor to edit the file. See what's inside. Or type:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
