can you recommand a low format software for linux ?
 
can you recommand a low format software for linux ? which can skip any bad sectors and format it.

My hard drive maker is toshiba !

Why the huge font??

I looked at "man mke2fs"---there is an option to check for bad blocks when formatting ext2 or ext3. The link below might be a place to start.

I removed the ridiculous size of that text...

Most disk makers have a bootable CD available that will do that. Well, the equivalent anyway, as drives are no longer "low level" formatted.

go to yahoo search and type " BOOT AND NUKE " it works well
