Talking Can you install linux on an android box. T95z plus.

Hello, I'm a new user to linux questions though not new to linux itself!
If you have any questions feel free to message me.

I was wondering if there was a linux distro that you can install on an arm box? The box I have has the amlogic s912 chipset.

It runs Coreelec just fine. Though I don't really about Kodi. I never bought it to use it as an android box. I only bought to just tinker with. I'd preferbly like to install it on the hardware and not boot it from an SD card like coreelec. I'm willing to take the risk of bricking it.

The coreelec web site states:

CoreELEC is a ‘Just enough OS’ Linux distribution
So, the answer to your question is "yes".

EDIT: There are many other ARM-based computers. You may have heard of Raspberry Pi. I own an Odroid, which runs Ubuntu but can also be used with ARMbian. There is also Archlinux/ARM and many others.

Hahaha I walked right into that one! I should have been more specific. I'm looking for a distribution similar to raspberry pi OS. I was thinking of trying Armbian. Though I'm not a huge fan of Ubuntu so I probably won't bother with that version of Armbian. I've never used a desktop ofan arm version. So i have no idea what to look for.

Debian offers multiple ARM versions, for different hardware. You can install vanilla Debian if you want. AFAIK Raspbian and Armbian are just respins of Debian, although supposedly tweaked for specific hardware. I've run Debian on old ARM chromebooks successfully, and on a SolidRun Jaguarboard SOC. I prefer plain Debian because I'm used to it, but YMMV.
