can i use linux on my desktop ????


hello every one
i have a pentium2 300MHz 128 MB ram desktop

which linux and which ver of linux would work smoothly on my pc.
im a beginner to linux and want lot of help

why dont you go and buy a new computer..

Because the machine is still useable ... I have a Pentium III 450MHz still in regular service as desktop (Ubuntu!) and a Pentium 200 used as a server (not frequently).

On a 300MHz machine I would try Xubuntu or if you want a fast machine DSL Linux (very primitive).

Did you search LQ for things like lightweight?

This Q has been asked many times before. Perhaps some kind souls will provide you w/links to some of the previous threads.
