Can i make usb disk mounting automatic??

Hi All,

I'm a newbie at this and after alot of searching i managed to get my usb pen drive to mount on mandrake 9.2. i use the following code under root to do it:

mount /dev/sda /mnt/usb

and to unmount

umount /mnt/usb

there must be an easier way to get my documents of the dusk without logging into root (cause that code doesn't work in my normal user account) and is it possible to make it work automatically like it does in windows and just appear on the desktop???

Any help would be much appreciated but must be explained simply cause i am still learning

thank you in advance

this is not windoze

ther problably is in usbtools or usbmanager

you can fix mount problems by reading man mount.
man fstab and man chown

make the mount directory /mnt/usb usable by the user
then add your mount line to fstab with the owner and some other options.
