Unhappy Can I choose which soundcard to use... :S

Greetings all the guru here,

There is one built-in soundcard chip on my motherboard, and I
also installed another PCI soundcard - SB Live!..

For my dear RH7.3, It can detect them both, but it always tries
to use the built-in chip 'coz it seems to be detected first... Is
there any way for me to manually specify which soundcard to
use? what info should I gather and how can I do that?

Looking to your answers!

Thanks!

Regds,
GM

Should be able to disable your sound chip in your BIOS.

Yup, I know that way... But just be curious, is there any other
way to work around without disabling it?

Thanks!

in your /dev/ directory
there may be several snd* and dsp* entries
with snd and dsp usually linked to dsp0 and snd0
you and change the link to point to dsp0 and snd1 if
those are the ones that point to the second sound card.
