Can any PCI card go into any PCI slot?

Hey guys,

This is slightly off topic for Linux but still computer related. I have a G3 B&W Power Mac and I'm looking to upgrade the video card. Of course it has a PowerPC processor but does it matter? I've found some really good PCI video cards that I can throw in but the product description doesn't even mention Mac. Does it specifically need a "Mac Edition" PCI card?

Thanks guys!

(And don't worry, I'll be dual booting OSX with Linux )

PCI is PCI so one would think....

Looks like I may have spoken too soon...

Apparently there is different firmware on the Cards themselves..

Might be easier to just find a Mac version..

So I could go through the trouble of flashing the PCI card, but you're right. Finding a Mac version would be easier...

Thank you!
