Question Can't recognize my exact harddisk size !

Hello,

When I tried to install RedHat9, it can't recognize my 30gb harddisk.

It just showed 2016Mb.

I am using RH8, and I remember that it also just recognized 2016Mb when I installed RH8. After installed the RH8, I used PartitionMagic to create another partitions and merge them together.

But now, I want to upgrade to RH9, it still has the same problem(can't recognize my harddisk size).

What can I do and how I can solve this?

Please give me a hand.

The brand of my harddisk is IBM(30GB) and forgot other information.

Best regards,
Eric

How far along in your preparation to install Linux are you? What have you done so far? Are you wanting to dual/multi boot? If so, with what operating system(s)?

I didn't want to dual boot. just a normal installation.

It just strange that can get the complete harddisk size only 2016Mb.

Something also strange, if I use the Redhat7.1 to install, it can recognize my harddisk size. But swap to 7.2/7.3/8.0/9.0, can't recognize.

Is that any problem in my motherboard or harddisk?

But I did nothing. I can install RedHat7.1 without any problem.

Please give me a hand.

Best regards,
Eric
