Can't Hear enough sound

I have a Via 8233 sound Card which was finely detected by my Suse 9.1 Pro.

But i have a weird problem.
I can't hear enough sound from the speakers......while in Suse......

But in Windows Xp, there is no such problem.

so what to configure in order to get the sound back to its normal Pitch?

Have you ran alsaconfig? or open up a console and then type alsamixer and see if the main and the pcm headings are muted, if so unmute then, turn up the volume on them and then exit then type " alsactl store " but you might have to login as root for that to stick.
