Can't get SRCU42L RAID controller to work

Hi all,

I am trying to install RH 9.0 on an Intel SE7501WV2 server board using a SRCU42L RAID controller. Intel only seems to provide binary drivers for RH 6.x and 7.x. Is it at all possible to get the 7.2 driver to work with RH 9.0?

When I try installing RedHat I type "linux dd" at the boot prompt, when I insert the driver disk the installer says no valid driver could be found. Is this because the driver is for RedHat 7.2 or is there something else wrong?

I am a newbie to Linux so any assistance in getting a system up and running with my motherboard and raid controller would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Kevlar,

I actualy managed so solve my problem by using the standard raid driver that ships with redhat, well I actually ended up using Fedora Core 1. I cant remember the name of the driver but it is the generic one that comes with the distro.

Hope you get it to work,
Jarrod.

I just got word back from Intel that the drivers are included in the RH9 release... no clue why it didn't auto find them.
