Can't find second SCSI adapter
Hello All,
My boss recently purchased an external raid enclosure to replace the one that was previously connected to our Linux cluster via a fairly old scsi card. To connect the new device we added a second scsi card to the system. The first (old) scsi card connects to the internal scsi hard drive. The second (new) scsi card connects to the external raid device. At the bios level both cards come up and show the attached devices.
That’s the setup so now the problem: After the first reboot the OS did see the new adapter we then shut down the system for the night. Now after the system boots the OS recognizes the old scsi card and the attached storage however the second card is not found. An examination of /proc/scsi only reveals the old scsi device. It is as though the new card does not exist any more. So the question is how might I go about getting the computer to scan in the new hardware again?
P.S.
I would like to give system specifics, such as the model for scsi adapters and the os version, but currently I am home and don't have those. I will update this tread early tomorrow with those specifics.
