I'm not sure what device file you would have for your floppy, but supposing it is /dev/fd0, you would put something like this in your fstab:
Code:
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto 0 0
To check if it's /dev/fd0 or /dev/floppy or something else, just have a look in your /dev directory.
Also: make sure that you have a directory /mnt/floppy, or replace it with the directory where you want to mount.

i did edit fstab in Kate, fstab looks like this :

/dev/hda1 / reiserfs defaults 1 1
/dev/sda1 /fat-v vfat defaults 1 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 defaults 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy vfat defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

tried auto for file format, when i rebooted, slackware prompted me, "did you mean vfat for /dev/fd0 ... changing" and noauto for permissions means the floppy will not load automatically upon boot and that doesn't make sense to me to do it that way ...... but either your way or mine the floppy is still not seen in Konqueror ,,, tried to "hunt" it down from root and found the floppy directory but this is not the floppy drive ... tried saving to it and it threw the file in /mnt/floppy but the floppy drive never activated and spun ..... i wonder if my floppy drive bit the dust????
well, any comments are welcome, let me know if you think i screwed this up somewhere ...

ok ....
first of all it appears that the floppy drive is mounted ...

in konsole
$df
shows the hda1 and fd0

in konqueror
there is no indication of the floppy being there in removable media, the only devices present are the hda1 as 320G Media that shows to be unmounted yet i am in it right now - another story, and usually the sda1 which is the usb thumb drive which is unplugged right now, no indication of the floppy drive in $system:/ in konqueror .....

so to answer the original question yes the floppy is mounted but is not seen by konqueror and the file i have attempted to save to it from the usb thumb drive is not on the floppy as seen by 0% used in df in konsole ...

so i have YET to determine how to save this file to the floppy in the floppy drive, but at least i am certain now that it is mounted ....

So if I understand you correctly; the floppy is mounted, it's just that konqueror can't see it.
Could you test this more thoroughly from the commandline (konsole or whatever you use)
check if the floppy is really mounted:
Code:
mount
try copying a test file to floppy:
Code:
cp /path/to/test/file /mnt/floppy
to make sure your changes are written away:
Code:
sync
list the contents of the floppy and check if the test file is there:
Code:
ls -al /mnt/floppy
Let me know if this works. If it does it's a konqueror problem, if it doesn't we'll have to look further..
