Can't X windows in Fedora Core 2

Hi
I install Fedora Core 2 on AMD 64 machine with ATI Radeon 9600 graphic card. After installation, machine can not run X windows (only in command mode).
The error message:
001:0107:63 Illegal x86 opcode
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have usable configuration.

Fatal server error
No screen found

-I tried install driver from ATI, but it didn't help.
-Choose VESA as driver, did not help too.

I have Windows XP in one harddrive (IDE) and Fedora Core 2 on another drive(SATA). Every thing works fine with Windows XP. So I am sure that not my hardware is a problem.

there might be a problem with the Monitor settings in the XF86Config file; check for:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "Dell 828FI"
DisplaySize 280 210
HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0 <---check these
VertRefresh 50.0 - 120.0 <---check
Option "dpms"
EndSection

make sure that you get the right setting here for your specific monitor. It can make a big difference.

Hi
Thank you for your answer Igmyrryr. I tried your suggestion but it is still problem. I even though copy XFree86Config from another machine (but same screen) that work well, but it still do not work.
I give up with Linux. I always have problem when installing Linux, because of badly hardware support. So I am waiting 2 years before Linux match technical level as Windows.
