Can't see multiple LUNS with RH7.2

I'm trying to get a SCSI tape drive, HP Autoloader1/8 VS80, working under RedHat 7.2. The tape device loads OK (LUN 00,) and is accessable under /dev/st0, but the changer device (LUN 01) doesn't show up. I tried enabling multiple LUNS using the RedHat instructions here

kb.redhat.com/view.php?eid=392

...but this doesn't seem to work. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Here's my hardware setup:

Compaq ProLiant 1600R
SCSI adapter: sym53c8xx
kernel version: 2.4.9-34

/proc/scsi/scsi:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: C9264CB-VS80 Rev: 5538
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

lsmod:
Module Size Used by Not tainted
ide-cd 27072 0 (autoclean)
cdrom 28576 0 (autoclean) [ide-cd]
autofs 11556 0 (autoclean) (unused)
tlan 25248 0 (unused)

cpqarray 19808 8
sd_mod 11900 0 (unused)
scsi_mod 98584 3 [st sym53c8xx sd_mod]

Thanks!

Hi..

Add max_scsi_luns=128 in the modules.conf and recreate initrd image.

It will work.

No, that didn't work It was the first thing I tried-- see the link to RedHat's support site in my original post.

In the end I added this line:

append="max_scsi_luns=128"

to my lilo.conf, and that worked.
