Can't mount cd-rom drive (not a valid block device)

Hi,

I was able to use the cdrom drive during installation of Slackware linux, but now I'm unable to mount a cdrom.

When I try to mount it, I get: /dev/cdrom is not a valid block device

When I look in to /var/log/syslog I see:
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module block-major-22

In my /etc/fstab is a line:
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro,owner,user 0 0

What is going wrong here?
Thank you,
Patrick de Pinguin

Change cdrom to hdb in /etc/fstab. To mount type mount /mnt/cdrom.

First, make sure you have a data CD in your drive, not an audio CD. You can't mount an audio CD. I spent hours on this.
