Question can't mnt cdrom with scsi-emulation

redhat 8.0
grub hdc-ide=scsi hdd-ide=scsi

hdc= burner in fstab its dev/cdrom1
hdd= dvd/cd player in fstab its dev/cdrom

when I try to mount cdrom it says
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
(could this be the IDE device where you in fact use
ide-scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?)

I can remove the hdd-ide=scsi line from grub and reboot and it mount so must be related but don't know the fix. Help

Make sure /dev/cdrom and /dev/cdrom1 (which are symbolic links) point to the correct devices.

ln -sf /dev/<proper device> /dev/cdrom
ln -sf /dev/<proper device> /dev/cdrom1

The links were posted for your info, reading them would be nice.
