Can't get USB soundcard (Maya44) to work

Hi!
I've recently purchased Audiotrak Maya44 USB, but when I boot up my Mandrake 10.1 Community with it plugged in, I get a message that no soundcards were found.
I actually have an on-board soundcard which normally works, but not together with the USB-soundcard.

dmesg outputs this:
Code:
usb 4-3.1: new full speed USB device using address 5
hiddev1: USB HID v1.00 Device [AUDIOTRAK MAYA44 USB] on usb-0000:00:1d.7-3.1
snd-usb-audio: probe of 4-3.1:1.0 failed with error -5
usbcore: registered new driver snd-usb-audio
When I run alsaconf it finds the on-board chip and a "legacy ISA"-something (probably not the USB-card).

Does someone have a clue of how to get it work? Or at least how to get the other soundcard work when Maya44 is connected. I don't want to un-plug it everytime I boot Linux.

/ Christian S

Hi,
I'm so sorry that I don't have a clue where the problem is. I'm beginner with Linux, so I really cannot offer any advice. But I plan to buy this soundcard for recording in Mandrake! If you work your problem out, please, let me know about the solution, because I don't want to buy something that is not fully functional under Linux.
Thank You very much.

Hi. I haven't got the soundcard to work :-(. So I recommend you to get another soundcard.

I know this thread is rather old. But I just wanted to say that this soundcard seems to be working with ALSA now. Out of the box, in fact! Sweet!
