Angry Can't get both monitors to work with Fedora core 2 and Matrox P650

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to lInux and all and need some help with my video setup. I have a Matorx Millenium P650 Video card and 2 18.1" Viewsonic flat panel dislays. I've research just about everywhere I know of to try and figure out why I can't get both displays to work. I've asked people at my University who are linux guru's and come up with nothing. So I thought I'd give a go here. I"m pretty certain its probably something stupid on my part (ID10T error). I'm going to post my XF86Config file and the errors i'm getting in the log file.

I did download and install the drivers that were on the matrox site and I see this matrox "splash" screen thingy before I get to the log in screen, so I'm thinking the drivers are there.

Please let me know if there is anything else I should post - as i said, i'm knew. I don't know where all the "good" stuff is yet.

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated...

thanks

Mark

I'm certainly no expert, but this (copied from your config file) certainly looks suspicious:
-------------------------------
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "My Monitor 1"
HorizSync 31.5 - 95.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 85.0
EndSectionSection "Monitor"
Identifier "My Monitor 2"
HorizSync 31.5 - 95.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 85.0
EndSection
------------------------------
I believe it should be :
------------------------------
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "My Monitor 1"
HorizSync 31.5 - 95.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 85.0
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "My Monitor 2"
HorizSync 31.5 - 95.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 85.0
EndSection
------------------------------
See the difference? Give it shot.

P650 Driver

Hello SMUGrad,

Where exactly did you find the XOrg compatible P650 driver for FC2? I had a look on the Matrox site but couldn't find anything there.
