http://lwn.net/Kernel/LDD3/ - for the 2.6 Kernel
http://www.xml.com/ldd/chapter/book/ for the 2.4 kernel Or, you could just go out and buy it. Then you'd always have access to it. |
Thanks Guys!
I have already gone through few chapters! Its easier than I thought! I have developed device drivers for some hardware in Windows in past. I had access to full documentation for the proprietary hardware. My question is, if I am to write drivers for Linux, do the manufacturers easily give out specs? Or will they deny bacause I dont work for them? Thanks |
HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAH
good luck. to be hoenst it depends from vendor to vendor... many do, many don't. some vendors are *extremely* helpful, and actively encourage community involvement, others think people are trying to destroy them by stealing their intellectual protocol. |
