Question Can't find my eth0 in my new Intel D945GNTLR MotherBoard

Hi folks! I'm having problems with my new PC. Just got a new Intel D945GNTLR mother board and installed Win XP and Slackware 10.1 for dual booting. With Win XP I have internet acess, but not any sucess with Slackware 10.1. I can't find eth0 in it.

- dmesg -> Can't find any eth0 related...
- lspci -> Nothing about network...
- ifconfig -> Just see "lo" in it...

What can I do to figure out?
Do you guys suggest anything else to do?
Am I a ?
Please help!
Thanks in advance!

Guilherme

What actually is your lspci output? Just because it doesn't say anything in there about eth0 doesn't mean your network card isn't listed. If you could let us know what is in that output it would be nice.

Looks like the last line is your winner. The next thing you probably need to do is try modprobing one of the following kernel modules and see if you get anything in dmesg...

eepro100
eepro
eexpress
e1000

Those are the (to my knowledge) intel specific kernel drivers for network interfaces.

I had the same problem with ICH6 family gigabit ethernet controlle on my asus board...the one I had was manufactured by marvell, I dled the driver package from their site, installed the device, then created the ifcfg-eth0 file in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, and it works fine.
Good luck.

Got IT!

Thanks, I found the Intel's Drivers website. There I got the drivers for my Motherboard. Just a make install and modprobe e100 to get things working!
Thanks all!
