Unhappy Can't discover bluetooth pc.

My friend and I were trying to do a tranfer over bluetooth. We both are running OpenSuse 10.2. When I attempted to send the file to him. I could not discover him. He couldn't discover me either. I was wondering if there is someplace to set whether you can be discovered or not? Or is it a different problem?

Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth is not fast (a few hundred kilobytes a second). It has the same poor security as 802.11a/b/g/n (aka wireless network). Be careful.

Yes, I am aware of it... We were just going to be transferring some small text files. We have done it before when he was using windows. He had no problem discovering my bluetooth then. I don't see why there is a problem now...

My bluetooth used to be configured right because I used to do transfer between my phone and my computer all the time. Now my phone can't even see me!

I tried installing the latest bluez packages to see if it would solve the problem but it didn't. I've seen options in the kde control center for discovering other devices but what about making yourself discoverable? The way its behaving it makes me feel like there is just some setting that says that the bluetooth on my computer just isn't set to be discoverable.
