Talking Can't Configure two ethernet cards

Hello everyone! =)

I have problem configuring my 2nd Ethernet Card..
after manually inputting IP credentials and confirming (by clicking OK)
it goes back to some kind of APIPA generated IP Address..

(in other words, my previous config is neglected)

BTW, I am using Debian ETCH disto.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated^^

Thanks in advance!

~Ryan

why don't you post your configuration file ?

cat /etc/network/interfaces

also

lspci | grep -i eth

and

cat /var/log/dmesg | grep -i eth

that should show us pretty much everything we would need to see..
The first is your network card configuration file
the Second is will show what Network cards are in your machine
The third will show what device names your system has assigned to those network cards.

That was definitely in the wrong thread. Must have had more than one tab open to LQ and posted to the wrong one. Sorry.

Now I have to figure out where it was supposed to go.
