can't burn with k3b, but debian knows cdrom...?

Hello,

P4-2,5Ghz/sarge debian 3r3/kernel 2.6
here's my entry in fstab:
Code:
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
dmesg says:
Code:
hdc: QSI CD-RW/DVD-ROM SBW-242, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
and when I insert a DVD or a CDROM, i can read it ....

Hmm, seems that K3b knows that drive as a read-only Drive.
Do you have an idea, how to make it to a CD-Writer (it can't write DVDs, it's a DVD-read/CD-read-writer).

Thanks

There's a bug in Kernel 2.6.8. Just root is able to burn CD's. I started k3b as root and could burn CD's well.

So, the possibilies are:
  • either always burning CD's as root or compiling kernel 2.6.9 or 2.6.7.
