Caen HV Suppply Firmware?

OK...So I am a complete LINUX newbie
I have recently bought this programable HV Supply and am trying to install it and load the drivers for it on my linux machine.

The HV Supply itself has a FTDI chip. I have installed the drivers and loaded them for this chip ....(I used the lsmod command and can see the driver!)

But the problem is the actual HV Supply firmware. They have a zip file which contains the needed firmware for the HV Supply to run. I have downloaded and saved this file....but dont know what to do next. All that comes out once I have extracted is a binary file (.203 file). I know I need to load it it or install it but not sure what or how?

Here is the page link to the HV device http://www.caen.it/csite/CaenProd.js...t=21&idmod=599
FTDI chip: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm
Any Help?
Many Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

You need to provide more information. Which distribution, kernel and possibly links to the device support page for device information.

Most Gnu/Linux will place the firmware in /'lib/firmware' or something of the sort.

FYI: I suggest that you look at 'How to Ask Questions the Smart Way' so in the future your queries provide information that will aid us in diagnosis of the problem or query.
