I have am ASUS p4b533-audio model motherboard that has integrated c-media 8738 based sound. I installed the cmpci 4.03 driver and enabled the S/PDIF loop. I can get sound out of the analog port but i have been unable to get signal from the S/PDIF coax port.

I have tried both coax ports and i havent gotten anything. i know that i have the expansion plugged in right because i can get S/PDIF out from windows. I tried to disable the S/PDIF loop as well and i still got nothing.

Has anyone else had this problem... and how did you fix it? thanks for the help.

Struggling to get my 8738card to send sweet music from SP/DIF out but I am failing..
If U solved this I would be happy if u post a reply on how!
I use undeadlinux 2.4.20, built on slackware I think..
cmpci is loaded and works fine except that I have no SP/DIF out working.
