C-media 8738 And 5.1 sound problem
 

Hi , I've got a C-media 8738 based sound card and a 5.1 speaker setup. I'm running Slackware 9.1.

The problem : My subwoofer's volume is extremely low even if I turn the volume to its highest level on the subwoofer it self.

I have tried adjusting things in alsamixer, but that did not help.

Is there a way to tell alsa (or Linux) that I have 5.1 speakers and not just 4.

In win98 the sound is fine (ie it's Linux related not a hardware problem)

Doesn't anyone know how to solve this problem???
