buying a computer, needs to be linux compatible

Hi

Im going to buy a Dell, so it should work, my real question is about displays. Will linux work OK with a 20" WIDE SCREEN flat planel display?

resolution is 1680x1050.

Or does it just depend on the graphics card? Im getting the standard integrated 128mb pci radeon x300.

Im doing a lot of programming, not graphics work, to answer the question why such a nice display with such a puny graphics card?...;)

If you know the horizonal and vertical rates, you will be fine.
