burning cds as normal user

i've installed gtoaster. it works fine as long as i'm root. if i switch to normal user it does not detect my cd-recorder. i've set it up manually, but it says that i have no permissions to use this device. what is the most strange, i've got rwx privileges for /dev/scd0 which is my recorder. what is wrong here?
