building nvidia driver
recently i started running linux on my pc and have most of my drivers running smoothly. currently i am running suse 64-bit edition and need some help setting up or building my driver information for my 5900ultra video card. in the readme it instructs the user to consult the distros user manual however i didn't not see anything about building driver in either manual. If anyone has some information it is much needed.

well, whats the problem? what errors do you get? if you want to know where to get nvidia card drivers, get them from:
http://nvidia.com download the latest amd 64 drivers. |
i tried that, and with the driver download the readme says to build a driver. it tells you to consult your documentation that came with the distro and i did. no luck. nvidias downloads are not rpms simply text to build the driver.

try this (as root)
init 3 sh the_driver.sh dont let it download a precompiled driver, have the installer build one for you. it should do it all automatically. modprobe nvidia exit startx & |
