Broadcom wireless drivers not working on HP pavillion dv1000 laptop
I've been trying for quite a long time now to get my Broadcom wireless adapter for my HP laptop to function. It's been stated that this is troublesome for most users. I've done all that I can, tried Linuxant driver loader, went to and tried methods listed. One source I found was linville. I found the location of the dev.git files but being quite new to Linux I don't know exactly what to do with the info as listed below. The distro I'm experimenting with is Knoppix and I'm trying to load the linville drivers/files into my system. Ideas or solutions welcomed.

Mike -
I feel your pain. I don't know if you are at the point where you are willing to spend money. I got to that point, and I am glad I did -money well spent for an Atheros card from a vendor who knows open source. I have way too much time invested in failing to get several cards working. How much is my time worth? I'm sure I'll be able to sell those cards to Window's users. I love trouble free Linux wireless.

I just had to face the facts that my cards were not going to work reliably, if at all, without a huge investment of time. I am persistent, but there is a time to admit defeat and reach for the credit card.
