Question Broadcom w/l behaving strangely lately.

Hey all,
I recently happened to notice something strange about my Fedora 8 laptop (hardware specs in my signature).
Today, while playing music using amarok/audacious, I happened to see my wireless light cycle between activated (blue) and deactivated (red) repeatedly coupled with a heavy upsurge in hard drive usage as seen on my system monitor. I for once let the system run, keeping the playback continued, and the same happened after some time again. I decided to deactivate my wireless using the external switch but as soon as I did, the system froze and I had to hit the switch.

I also went through /var/log/messages and did find something interesting and I'm posting it here.

I found this repeated from time to time:
Code:
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10)
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx
Jun 15 23:42:20 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10)
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: printk: 133348 messages suppressed.
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: b43-phy0 ERROR: PHY transmission error
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10)
... and so on

And this is just before my system completely froze:
Code:
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx
Jun 15 23:42:21 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio
Jun 15 23:42:22 localhost kernel: b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 410.2160 (2007-05-26 15:32:10)
Jun 15 23:42:22 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx
Jun 15 23:42:22 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx
Jun 15 23:42:22 localhost kernel: Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio
Jun 15 23:42:23 localhost kernel: b43-phy0 ERROR: Microcode not responding
Jun 15 23:42:23 localhost kernel: b43-phy0 ERROR: You must go to http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#devicefirmware and download the latest firmware (version 4).
Jun 15 23:42:23 localhost kernel: b43-phy0 ERROR: Controller restart FAILED
...followed by the next boot cycle.
Can anyone please help me with this and tell me what the problem is?
