Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet +slack 10.0
Hi all i have just installed linux slackware 10.0 (or maybee 10.1 dont remember now:P) but the thing is my network card wont take a correct ip number looks like it is something wrong with the drivers i got a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet in a thinkpad t43 and in linux it says that it is a intel....... something something card and thats wrong what to do?? (and just so u know im a total newbie in linux so if you reply me please tell what to do step by step) Thanks

Provide you have installed the proper driver , maybe , at least is in red hat and fedora , you have to check if the module is up , by running the proper command . for my distro is lsmod . this will give you a list of the installed modules on your PC and that should include the one you have mention .
