you
klfreese, I have a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop. I just got through setting up my built-in wireless network card. I am surfing with it and typing this post with it right now. I went to this website:
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader...dc9f3ca7ebedba Driverloader is awesome and works great. The only catch is it cost $20.00. The good thing is you can try it for 30 days. That is what I am doing right now. Although, I will be buying it when my 30 day trial is up. It took me a while to get it setup with some trial and error. Go to the above link and give it a shot. If you have any problems post here and I will try and help you. I am running Suse 9.1 also. The one thing that I had trouble with was the internal ethernet card conflicting with the wifi. I just went into Yast and removed it. I don't want to use it anyway. I can always re-add it if the need arises. Once I deleted it I was able to connect to the internet with no problems. Dave |
hi i'm in the same boat as you... i just got a acer travelmate 2502 with a broadcom internal card. Also running suse 9.1
which did you delete? the ethernet card or the wireless card? also, when i boot the system the kernel messages say that the wlan0 must be started manually... A: how do i start it manually and B: how do i start it automatically. shane |
